2024 Beijing Auto Show: Lexus LF-ZL/LF-ZC concept cars unveiled

During the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, Lexus LF-ZL and LF-ZC concept cars made their domestic debut. At the same time, it conveys Lexus’ electrification vision and future new mobility experience.

Lexus LF-ZL concept car

Previously, the Lexus LF-ZL concept car officially debuted at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show. The front face of the new car has a very sharp shape, especially the L-shaped LED headlights, which are very impactful. In addition, the front surround of the new car also adopts very exaggerated shapes on both sides. Together with the dynamic front bumper, the front face looks very sharp.

The side of the new car has extremely impactful lines, the overall style adopts a dynamic fastback design, and is equipped with electronic rearview mirrors. At the rear, the new model uses a through-type taillight set, and the exaggerated rear surround echoes the front face. It is understood that as the prototype of Lexus" next-generation pure electric vehicle, the new vehicle will make innovative changes to the body's modular structure and software platform.

Lexus LF-ZC concept car

The Lexus LF-ZC concept car also debuted at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show. Lexus officials stated that a mass-produced model based on this new concept car is planned to be launched in 2026. In terms of styling, the new car takes "simple tension" as its design theme and presents a highly impactful appearance through smooth and exquisite design. The new car takes advantage of the characteristics and structure of pure electric vehicles and incorporates aerodynamic elements, so that the vehicle takes into account both aerodynamic performance and design aesthetics.

In terms of interior, the new car adopts the "Bamboo CMF Concept", and a variety of bamboo element designs are incorporated into the cockpit, such as bamboo fiber woven facings and fabrics made of bamboo silk. In addition, this concept car is also equipped with a Direct4 four-wheel drive system and steer-by-wire for "linear steering feeling".

In terms of power, the two models are likely to be equipped with Toyota"s next-generation high-performance lithium-ion battery, which will be put into production in 2026. It has a cruising range of 800 kilometers and only takes 20 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%. It is reported that Toyota will also launch higher-performance lithium-ion batteries in 2027-2028, which can achieve a pure electric range of more than 1,000 kilometers and charge from 10% to 80% in just 10 minutes.
