On June 15, Xpeng Motors announced the official opening of urban NGP in Beijing. Currently, this feature is open to public beta users and will soon be rolled out to G9 and P7i Max version users with Xmart OS version 4.3.0. After the Xpeng P5 P version model is upgraded to Xmart OS 3.5.0, the urban NGP function will also be applicable to the above range.
Urban NGP has been continuously optimized and iterated since its launch in October 2022. With the upgrade of Xmart OS 4.3.0 this time, urban NGP will be optimized in many scenarios such as lane changing, detouring, and car following. When encountering lane changes and overtaking, two strategies can be adopted: standard and conservative according to the user's different driving habits. After urban NGP is turned on, vehicles can complete typical urban road traffic behaviors such as avoiding road construction and avoiding other traffic participants. In addition, urban NGP also optimizes the response logic for side-car pressing scenarios to reduce false deceleration caused by interference from side-cars.
At the same time, the intelligent assisted driving environment simulation display (SR) system continues to be optimized. On the basis of recognition and display capabilities, a new lane change waiting state is added to notify the lane change intention in advance and switch the top when passing a large intersection. View angle to display more intersection information.
Currently, Xpeng City NGP has opened to core first-tier cities including Beijing/Shanghai/Guangzhou/Shenzhen, and is expected to continue to open dozens of cities within the year. Starting from the second half of this year, XNGP capabilities that do not rely on HD maps will be gradually opened in cities without HD maps, including short-distance customized NGP capabilities that can be used in commuting scenarios.
